The tragedy threw many families into deep pain and changed their lives for ever. The havoc not only spread in lives of died ones but into the lives of people of Kedar Valley who also lost their families, houses, livestock, land and source of income.

The catastrophe took place in the lives of Kedar Valley and the whole system broke into pieces as people who are dependent on Kedarnath Yatra, lost their sources of income. With time, things recovered with the reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham and the hopes ignited in the lives of all people.
