A More Refined Version Of Kedarnath Kitchen Called

The Pahadi Kitchen is a local dine in restaurant based in Kedar Valley at Sonprayag. It started in 2018 aftermath the Kedarnath Tragedy of 2013. The tragedy threw many families into deep pain and changed their lives for ever. The havoc not only spread in lives of died ones but into the lives of people of Kedar Valley who also lost their families, houses, livestock, land and source of income. The catastrophe took place in the lives of Kedar Valley and the whole system broke into pieces as people who are dependent on Kedarnath Yatra, lost their sources of income. With time, things recovered with the reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham and the hopes ignited in the lives of all people. The Yatra started with great zeal and enthusiasm leading to better economic development in the area.
Mr Manoj Semwal, an enthusiast, traveller, nature lover and entrepreneur with Army background came up with the idea of helping tragedy afflicted people by creating a system of helping all three sectors of economy to start a local kitchen to offer Pahad oriented food to pilgrims. Mr Semwal named this initiative as “Pahadi Kitchen”. The Pahadi Kitchen solved the problems of the people who were struggling to find local and wholesome food in restaurants during Yatra. The Pahadi Kitchen offers local grain food to its customers with homegrown grain, millets, pulses and vegetables. The hill facing view of the Pahadi Kitchen enchants the customers.
During COVID lockdown, Pahadi Kitchen worked with District Administration in helping and offering food to needy people and got appreciation from the higher authorities for active participation and effective results. The other speciality of the Pahadi Kitchen is its staff which is mostly youth who was not able to crack the Army Recruitment due to medical or physical reasons, but their immersive involvement in work with Pahadi Kitchen makes the environment vibrant and joyful. And that joyfulness is served to the customers with tasty and wholesome food. The Pahadi Kitchen is also increasing its involvement with local people to promote and expand Pahad oriented products with the world. It is the sole objective of Pahadi Kitchen to motivate local people and increase economic development of the area.
